Abstract

The background of research is that people always have different motivation to work. Some people are motivated to work something because it gives them a lot of money although such work may be illegal. Some others are motivated to work due to the seeking for security or safety although it involves working in distant. All of these are determining the achievement of performance in working in the company. Research type is explanatory research. Based on the result of research and discussion, it is concluded that the demand for achievement, the demand for power and the demand for affiliation have simultaneous and partial influence on employee performance at PT. PLN Persero APJ Malang. This result indicates that higher motivation to work, due to the demand for achievement, the demand for power and the demand for affiliation, will increase employee performance. The lower motivation to work, either through the demand for achievement, the demand for power and the demand for affiliation, can decrease employee performance.
