Abstract

Kendal is one of the areas affected by drought. Threat of drought due to climate influences can not be avoided but the impact can be minimized if the pattern of drought in a region may be known.One way that used by using the application of remote sensing is through the processing and analysis algorithms Thermal Vegetation Index (TVI) which is the ratio between Land Surface Temperature (LST) and Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) to assess the distribution and patterns of agricultural drought Kendal in the year 2010-2014 will be connected to the characteristics of the region to determine its relevance to the drought in Kendal.The widest drought occurred in September 2012 with an area of 17275.792 ha, while the lowest drought occurred in September 2010 covering an area of 998.699 ha. Statistical analysis showed that the physical characteristics of the land effect on the incidence of agricultural drought in Kendal.
