Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a form of sustainable development with the company responsible for the social, economic, and environmental companies as a result of operational activities of the company. The purpose of this study was to determine the effeect of CSR on the profitability of companies in the consumer goods industry list in Indonesia Stock Exchange Period 2013-2014. This type of research is explanatory research with quantitative approach. The research location is situated in BEI UB that is located in Jalan MT.Haryono 165 Malang. Independent variable used in this study is the CSR (X) and the dependent variable in this study was profitability which is proxied by the ROA, ROE, and EPS. The results show that CSR significant effect on ROA, ROE, and EPS. CSR significant effect on ROA with 4,721 t calculate at a significance level of 0.000 and the coefficient of determination of 32.6%. CSR significant effect on ROE with t calculate 5.678 at a significant level of 0.000 and the coefficient of determination of 41.2%. CSR significant effect on EPS with t calculate -5.003 at a significant level of 0.000, and the coefficient of determination of 14.6%. Suggestions for furher research are expected to use other financial ratios, using moderating variables, and using different research period.
