Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe a procedure the allocation of rice in transportation information system which has been implemented and how the implementation of Vogel's Approximation method in a procedure the allocation of rice as recommendations in solving problem at UD. Sumber Jaya Grosir. This type of research is a descriptive research with case study approach. The results of this study indicate that the process of allocating the rice at UD. Sumber Jaya Grosir require a long time, it was because by the process of allocating rice done manually using stationery to make a matrix on sheets of paper, while the calculation of the cost of transportation in the shipment of rice it uses only a calculator. Transportation information system computer based who applies the Vogel's Approximation method is expected to allocate rice of a warehouse to meet a demand customer to a different location with quickly with correctly and can to minimize transportation costs in any delivery of rice.
