. Under earthquake induced dynamic soil-pile-basement structure interactions, simultaneous pile lateral, wall frictional, and wall normal forces will occur. This research investigated the distribution and behavior of such forces using the load transfer method as well as the classical lateral earth pressure principles. Data from typical buildings in Jakarta was used in the analysis. The results show that the pile foundations system carries a major part of the interaction forces, while reactions for wall frictional and normal forces are largely dependent on the soil conditions, pile system and basement configurations.
