Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Tarbiyah Pemalang (STIT Pemalang) was established in 1998. The institution changed names from STAI Pemalang to STIT Pemalang. In 2014, STIT Pemalang became the only Islamic institution that had 5 Islamic study programs: Islamic Studies, Islamic Education (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah), Islamic Education (Raudlatul Athfal), Arabic Studies, and Islamic Management Education.
